Activity/Procedure: 1. Spend time discussing geometric shapes and how those can be used to create the human figure. Show examples online and give handouts for reference. 2. Give pipe cleaners for students to begin the foundation shape of their figure, trying to incorporate proportion. 3. Once figures are completed, then, we’ll begin wrapping the figures with aluminum foil to add bulk to the “skeleton”. 4. If there’s display space, we can arrange their Tin Persons to share with the school.
Assessments (objective or subjective): 1. 60% of the grade will be objective, based on the use of shapes to construct the figure & proportions. 2. 40% of the grade will be subjective, based on the creativity of the pose.
